Dear Parents, Hello! Another successful week of school! They enjoyed meeting Mr. M this week and loved his song. Many of them danced to his tune! I think all of the forms have been sent in…so THANK YOU for being so prompt in returning them.

The magazine sale started this week. This is a great fundraiser for St. Pius X. We receive many benefits in the classroom from this sale. So go out and sell, sell, sell!!

Our Week in Kindergarten: Religion- This week in Religion we started Chapter 1. Our discussion this week was how God created the sun, moon, stars, clouds and the sky. We wrote a Thank You prayer for this. I am sending home The Hail Mary prayer home. Please go over this with your child. I will be testing them on this for report cards. Our Bible story this week was about Moses.

Language Arts- This week in LA we met Mr. M with his Munchy Mouth. They described Mr. M using adjectives and full sentences. They also got to listen and dance to Mr. M’s song. A lot of them “boogied” down to his song. I think they have come out of their shells!! We also discussed characters in a story; nouns (person, place, thing); author and illustrator of a book; read Little Mouse; and practiced writing more words and our names on lined paper.

POPCORN WORDS: I, am, little & me

Math-In Math we started Chapter 4. We discussed numbers 0-4. We have discussed sets/groups; smaller than; less than and the number word zero. ***Please add zero to your popcorn box. I will not be making popcorn for our number or color words.

Social Studies-This week in Social Studies we discussed rules, laws and cooperation skills. We drew a rule at home that we follow and will make a classroom book out of these. Some of them are pretty interesting!

Computer-We visited www.starfall.com this week. For computer class we need each child to bring in a set of headphones to use during Computer class. We will keep these here all year at school. Please put the in a Ziploc bag with their names on them. Thanks!!

F.Y.I. If you need to inform us on anything, please do so by email or a note in their folder. We sometimes forget about our voicemail!!!

Please send all paperwork in the folder. Do not leave it in their backpacks. We do not look inside backpacks. All notes and forms need to be sent in the daily folder.

(K-3 only!!) We take only a SHORT break for snack. Please make sure that your child has a small item for snack. Something that they can hold easily and eat quickly. K-1 (PM) does not eat snack.

Water bottles are permitted in the classroom. Don’t forget to put it in a cozi or wrap it in a paper towel.

K-1 PM Class: Mon.-Music, Computer;Tues.-Spanish;Wed.-Art;Thurs.-Library; Fri.-PE-please wear tennis shoes and shorts under their jumpers.

We also are making a change to our Parent Story Time for the K-3 group. There will not be a story time in the am (9:30am). It will now be at 1:00pm-1:30pm in the K-2 classroom (Ms. Herzog).
