Pius X offers a preschool PSR Program for children ages 3, 4
and 5. This program is held in the primary hallway of the school
building during the 9:30 a.m. Sunday mass and typically runs
from September through April.
Our Sunday School program uses curriculum
designed to stimulate creativity in children while exploring
Bible stories with age appropriate and inviting resources.
Learn to play, work and worship happily with others
Develop a sense of awe, wonder, respect, gratitude and
stewardship for God’s creation
Come to know God loves, protects and provides for them
Recognize that prayer is talking to God
Listen to and talk about Bible stories
Normally, the child’s family will be active, registered
members of St. Pius X Parish. Exceptions may be made with
the approval of the Director of Religious Education and
providing there is space available without depriving active,
Children must be toilet trained.
Children must be 3, 4, or 5 years of age by Oct. 1 to be in
the 3-, 4-, and 5-year-old classes, respectively.
General Operation of
Teachers teach on a rotational basis. While these catechists
are volunteers, they are expected to attend special training
sessions held throughout the year.
Weekly attendance is important because the lessons do build
on one another. Absences should be kept to a minimum (e.g.,

For your child’s safety, we request that only a parent pick
your child up at the door. If someone else must pick them
up, please notify the teacher ahead of time.
Parents may withdraw their child from the program at any
Music is an important part of our program.
All volunteers have attended the Virtus training offered
through the Diocese of Covington.
